Hey Dosto,
I am Prof. Syed Mohsin. I have cleared UGC NET examination in the first attempt. The cut-off percentage at my time was 65%. And as per the result from answer key, I have scored 70%.
Toh Mujhse kaafi log puchte hai, "How to crack NET examination?" "What to study?", How to study? which book to read? How have you cracked the exam? and so on...

So I thought of starting this video series to answer those questions.
Iss video series mein ham sirf Paper-I par focus karenge. Kyunki it is common for all. Aap koi bhi subject ke liye appear honge toh Paper-I compulsory hai aur sabke liye common bhi.  Jabke Paper-II aur Paper-III subject specific hote hain.
Toh aaiyye dosto suruwaat karte hai Kaamiyabi ke raaste par chalne ki.
First see the format of NET/SET Exam in the below picture.

The Format of UGC SET Exam in Hindi

SET (Maharashtra) Questions 1-10

UGC SET Solved Paper-1

NET/SET exam pass karne ke liye sabse pehla step hai ke hame Question Paper ka structure samajhna hoga.
Hame samjhna hoga marking scheme, time for solving the paper and most important kya attempt karna hai aur kya skip karna hai.

Toh doston NET/SET exam mein teen Papers hote hai.
Paper-I jise General Paper bhi kaha jaata hai. Yeh Paper mein 60 questions hote hai, jis mein se aapko koi bhi 50 solve karne hai, agar aapne 50 se zyada questions solve kiye tab pehle 50 questions hi consider kiye jayenge. Is paper ke liye 75 minutes hote hai.

Paper-II Yeh depend karta hai apke specialization par. For example agar aapne History mein post graduation kiya hai, tab apka Paper-II, History Subject mein hoga.  Yeh Paper mein 50 questions hote haiaur sabhi questions compulsory hai. Is paper ke liye bhi 75 minutes ka time hota hai.

Paper-III Yeh paper bhi subject specific hoga.  Yeh Paper mein 75 questions hote hai aur sabhi questions compulsory hai. Is paper ke liye 150 minutes ka time hota hai.

Passing Criteria
Step I: Following is the criteria for clearing step I
Category
Minimum percentage to be obtained

Paper-I
Paper-II
Paper-III
General
40%
40%
50%
Reserved
35%
35%
40%

Step II: Jo candidates ne step I clear kiya hai, unki ek merit list banegi, aur yeh merit list subject-wise and category-wise hogi, Yeh merit list teeno papers ke average marks par banegi.
Step III: Top 15% candidates (for each subject and category), from the merit list under step II, will be declared NET qualified

Toh dosto agar aap NET exam  Qualify karna chahte hai toh aapko apne specialization ke top 15% candidates mein aana hoga.
Aur yeh karna bohot mushkil nahi hai. Aaiye dekhte hai ek strategy jo hamari help kar sakti hai.
General  category candidates ke liye higher cut-off marks hai, Isiliye ham uska example lete hai. Aur Agar candidate reserved category se hai tab bhi he will qualify with these cut-Off marks.
Dosto Paper -I qualify karne 40 marks chahiye, Paper -II qualify karne ke liye bhi 40 marks chahiye aur Paper-III ke liye hame chahiye 75 marks.
Par jaise hamne dekha, the higher the marks, more are Your chances of qualifying for UGC NET exam.
Dusri baat, compared to paper-II and Paper-III, Paper-I yaani general Paper ka syllabus kam hai.
Toh dosto hame Paper-I mein hi maximum marks score kar lene chahiye.
Aur Paper-I mein hi apko options hai that you have to solve any 50 out of 60 questions.
Agar aap 60 questions mein se 40 questions bhi sahi kar lete ho toh you will score 80 marks.

Shayad aap mein se kaafi logo ko lag raha hoga, Paper-I mein 80 marks score karna difficult hai.
But beleive me, it is much easier to score 80 marks in Paper-I as compared to other papers.
Mai aane waale videos mein uske solutions bhi bataunga. Yaad rakhiye Paper-I pass hone par hi Paper-II aur Paper-III check kiya jaata hai.
That means agar aap apne subject mein kitne bhi ache marks score kar lenge par Paper-I clear nahi kar payenge tab, It will be of No use.

Next video mein ham dekhenge:
Syllabus of Paper-I aur usme kaise ache marks score kiye jaa sakte hai.

Aur saath mein ham dekhenge number of multiple choice questions with their answers and explanation.

Agar aapko koi doubt hai toh comments section mein puchiye. I will try to answer your every question.

NET/SET Exam Tip: Year 2017 se NET/SET exam form bharne ke liye Aadhaar card compulsory ho chuka hai. Agar aap ke paas aadhar card nahi hai toh bana lijiye.

Final 10 Tips for UGC NET and SET Exam

Here are some tips that may make your preparations for UGC NET\SET exam bit easier.

  1. Do formulas. UGC NET\SET exam will not ask you subjective questions but it may (and it certainly does) make you to solve problems which may involve some calculations to get an answer. The problems generally asked can be solved in few steps; concentrate on these kind of "smaller" problems.
  2. Solve questions given at the end of the chapters in reference books.
  3. Score in Paper 1, it will help your aggregate. Don't ignore it because it is non-technical.
  4. Most of the questions which are asked don’t have a direct answer. Take time to think about the answer. Try to figure out the meaning of the options given. You might just get a hint. (UGC wants you to be a research person as well, so they will force you to analyze things.)
  5. Eliminate the wrong options. If you don’t know the answer entirely or are confused with the given options, eliminate the options which you know are certainly not the answers to the question. Once you do that, then work with the remaining options and try to relate them to the question asked.
  6. Usually UGC SET exam papers are more Maths oriented than UGC NET exam. So if appearing for UGC SET exam, focus more on maths related topics such as Set Theory, Graph Theory etc. In case of UGC NET exam, solve problems based networking, operating systems, data structures, etc.
  7. Remember, there is no negative marking. So don't leave any questions, attempt all
  8. Solve previous years papers; UGC NET/SET exams do repeat their questions.
  9. Do an analysis of number of questions asked topic wise in previous paper; this will give you an idea on what topic(s) questions are asked most. (In Computer Science and Application subject most questions are asked on Compilers.)
  10. Opt for JRF while applying. UGC doesn't charge for opting for it. (JRF stands for Junior Research Fellowship. You will get scholarships upto 30000/- per month for any research you will do in future if you get JRF.)
